Filming Blog

Things aren't looking good for us. Our project is due soon and we still haven't recorded. Every day there has been something stopping us from filming. Tuesday Aridsondez had track practice. Wednesday I had to attend band practice. Today Quincy didn't come to school and his phone died when we texted him. By the time he responded, Aridsondez's mom already left. This is the last weekend that's left and we MUST record since our planning was so poor. The days we record must be for long periods of time whenever we record. Tomorrow we're definitely going to record but it'll be later than we want since I have band practice.

With hard work we can still have a great project. Although compared to the last two projects we're going to have to work 3x as hard to make it good. The weather for tomorrow is predicted to be in the 40s. I didn't expect that to happen especially since the temperture was way higher at the beginning of the week. Regardless of the weather, we'll still record for the next three days. We all planned to meet up at Quincy's house early than usual. If we do this and don't goof off at all, everything will go perfect. The only concern I have is if we'll actually be able to record everything on our story in the amount of time that we have. And if what we record is two minutes. If a little over we'll have to rerecord to make up for it.

Filming Blog

This weekend I had planned on both Saturday and Sunday preventing us from filming. On Saturday I had to attend two different birthday parties and it was raining. There was a party for my aunt and uncle that overlapped. Even before they started, we were going to film but Aridsondez had an issue. The following day I had morning church service and brunch with my siblings and cousins. We also didn't plan to record on Sunday. The brunch lasted longer than expected so filming was out of the question again. We've decided that we won't wait for next week and record during the week. Although I hope it won't interfere with Aridsondez’s track practice. Also, the problem with recording during the week is the shorter amount of time that we'll have.

Today was the first day of the weekend and it didn't go well. Yet again we didn't record. Aridsondez had other homework due and time flew by him. By the time he was finished, it was pitch black outside. Tomorrow I'll make sure that all of us are on the same page. On Wednesday I'll have mandatory band practice to attend that ends at 6 so we won't be able to film then. But for the rest of the week, we'll record at least 2-3 more times. We have to work even harder to catch up since we missed the first two weekends to record. But if we're all working hard, we'll be able to get it done. Our movie can and will come out great.

Filming Blog

For this blog, we haven't started filming yet. We've decided that we're going to start filming on the upcoming Saturday. And if something comes up, we'll reschedule for the next day. The location is the same as the music video, inside/outside Quincy's house. We'll probably film for 2-3 hours around 3 or 4 pm. And since we didn't sign a camera out, we're going to be using an iPhone XR which both Aridsondez and Quincy have. Although since we're using a smartphone, getting certain shots and angles may become more difficult to shoot. The process should be easier than when we filmed the commercial and music video because of the experience we've gained. Following the storyboard will be the most essential part since each character actually has lines. As long as we do so, this movie beginning will be great!

We didn't specify what costumes/clothes we'll wear. I've decided that I'll wear a full black outfit. A plain black hoodie, black track pants, and all-black shoes. I know that Aridsondez has also planned out what he'll wear. It's kind of important that each of us knows what we're wearing. We'll also have to wear the same outfit every time we record unless there's a change in character clothes. But our film doesn't have any change in character outfit so there shouldn't be any confusion if we forget what we're going to wear. Although in the story, Quincy and I are on the same team and Aridsondez is the "seeker". So it'll be smart if both of us wear the same color while Aridsondez wears something different. That'll make it easy for the audience to identify who's on what side.

Storyboard Blog For Haphephobia

When creating the story blog it was a spit effort. The script really helped in visualizing the storyboard. The storyboard and the script go hand and hand. So, it helped my teammates know what to draw and write on the storyboard. We split the effort into three ways. So that is why some of the art seems different. That isn’t important though because the storyboard still conveys the story. I know for sure now when we go filming it will be as easy as ever. When we hopefully bring more actors the storyboard will allow them to easily catch on to the story. The storyboard is actually pretty detailed.

Title Design

Titles is going to be an important aspect of this project. So, it's imperative that we get them right. The way I will do this is keep the titles simple. They will be simple enough that it's not jarring but it still holds complex meaning. I want the title to somewhat represent the movie. Of course the background and music of the tile sequence will do that but if I can personalize the tile to do the same I think it will help the audience understand the movie a lot better. I'll personalize the titles to be correlated to the tag aspect of the movie. It will also have movements that represents tag.

Location, Participants, Health, & Schedule

Details for LPHS are the details for the location, Participants, Health and safety and Schedule. This slide goes into detail on what the LPHS of our film will be. Finding a location wasn't hard, we used the same location from our music video that we did in the middle of the year. It's a great neighborhood. Schedule was hard to make but when I thought about it, I made the perfect Schedule. It takes into account everything and gives us more than enough time to do this project accurately. Health and safety wasn't hard. I already knew what measures were put in place to ensure our well-being. Participants weren't final. I know that 3 people including me will participate but I don't know if the other people will be also participating.

Sound Script: Sound and Dialogue

This script had to match the shooting script. Though this was easier in a way it was hard to find the right songs. The song had to be royalty free and had to be perfect for the scenes. After searching I found great songs on youtube that worked to my liking. Doing the script was hard. I had to really think about the sound that would be happening during a scene. I had to think about the dialogue and how that would work. In the end I think it turned out great. My partners will appreciate the scripts and be able to comprehend them. The sound script will help me when editing.

Script Blog

When doing the script about the character movements, movements of the camera and angles it was really hard to do. I had to consult my team and we had to think of a story to write about. The story we already made from our pitch but we have to figure out the details. The slides that I made are the script. It doesn't outline everything but it does outline what the characters are doing. The story is explained in the dialogue so it was hard making the script without that. I tried to implement most camera angles in my script. Including high angle, low angle tilt and even more. I didn't force the movements. It fits right into the story. Including the camera movements those were easy. Figuring out the story was the hardest part.
